Academic Writing Standard Essay

Academic Writing Standard EssayOne of the many rules that academic writing standard essays follow is the use of the word 'you' rather than 'I'. The 'you' refers to the student while the 'I' stands for the instructor or author. This rule has a very important, positive and decisive meaning for those students who plan to write as part of their degree requirements. Before discussing the rules pertaining to the word 'you', it is worth noting that in any academic writing standard essay the 'you' must be referred to as a singular and not plural. One example of this are: 'a student'the student' and the 'person' referred to should be the student's name not the author's name. Another example is: 'A man in power'Mr. Winston Churchill' rather than 'Mr. Winston Churchill'.In addition to this, one should bear in mind that the student is only referred to as 'you' and not 'you as an individual' which means that you should place each person mentioned within quotation marks, not placing an ellipsis bet ween each person. Additionally, the student is a singular and not plural; therefore, he or she should be quoted out loud. This is because using an ellipsis between the names of the student and the person will be seen as a copy-edit error. It is important to understand that the plural nouns are to be attributed to the singular without any problems being found in its usage. In this case, the person referenced should be referred to as 'I' which should include the pronoun 'your' placed as an 'I' when referencing the reader, rather than the professor or teacher.Using different meanings in the same sentence can be interpreted differently when writing in different grammar styles. For example, one should avoid using a comma between the single object noun and the compound object pronouns. The reason behind this rule is that there is no distinction between the two.Any citation of the student should include the name of the individual and not the professor, teacher or other individual referenced within the citation. In addition, the writer is not required to include a citation within the citations of the writer and reader. The academic writing standard essay requires the use of the singular and not plural in the case of writing about a single person. If the writer wants to cite a number of people, then plural terms should be used within the citation because in this case it is expected that at least two persons will be referenced.
